My Story
I started House of Wax as part of a school art assignment at Sherwood Charter School. The project was to design and create something we could sell at our annual craft fair. I wanted to make something unique — something no one had done at school before — and that’s how I decided on artisan candles.
After testing different waxes and scents, I created my own premium soy–paraffin blend, mixed with high-quality fragrance oils for the best scent possible — both before the candle is lit (cold throw) and while it burns (hot throw).
I also chose to use natural wood wicks, because they make a gentle crackling sound when burning. I loved how they added something special — the cozy sound of a tiny fireplace — to go with the clean burn and amazing scent.
What started as a school project quickly turned into something I love doing. That’s how House of Wax was born.
